Adult Swim: Pocket Morty

Studio: Yeah Haus

Client: Adult Swim
Role: Storyboard Artist & Animator

————————————————————————
I had the pleasure of being invited by Yeah Haus to participate in the exciting Pocket Morty bumper for Adult Swim Games. They presented me with fun beat boards and an incredible song, “Getcha Morty,” which instantly tickled the creative side of my brain.

Taking their concept, I crafted a detailed storyboard that seamlessly linked each scene, carefully timing and adding necessary breakdowns. Additionally, I had the opportunity to select my preferred shot for the sequence, ultimately opting for the giant Rick and the luchador Morty. Collaborating with Chad and Michelle, as always, was an absolute delight.

To the right are Michelle Oulette’s (Yeah Haus) beat boards, which I was provided to reference while developing the rest of the storyboards and animatic. Adult Swim granted a vast selection of different Morty’s, allowing for a varied depiction that can be observed in the final frame of the bumper presented below.

Storyboarding & Animatic

Michelle Oulette from Yeah Haus masterfully crafted beat boards and style frames, serving as invaluable references for my storyboards and animation process.

Above is the final storyboard and animatic that was developed by Eat Rice (me).
